Solo The Spirit of Java



Descriptions: 
Surakarta city was founded in 1745. The city was once the seat of government at the end of the Sultanate of Mataram. After the division of Mataram, became the center of government Surakarta Surakarta Kasunanan and Praja Mangkunagaran . Both central Javanese feudalism had relationship with Majapahit, Mataram dynasty is because the descendants of the kings of the Sultanate of Demak, which is also the successor of dynastic succession Wijaya, the founder of Majapahit.

In its development, Solo became an important trading town (in Solo stand Sarekat Islamic Trade in 1905), city tour (dubbed "the city of pleasure", with rather negative connotations), and urban culture. Keraton Surakarta is the symbol and the embryo of the city of Surakarta, better known city of Solo. Keraton Surakarta, or in his official name Kraton Surakarta Sultanate, is a historic place that is not to be missed when visiting the city of Solo. Built in stages since first established in 1744 by Sunan Pakubuwono II, making the Keraton Surakarta an exotic locale also stores a lot of historical value.

 
Physically Keraton Surakarta have much in common with the Sultan Palace in terms of the basic patterns of spatial structure, because one of the architect is Prince Sultan Hamengkubuwana Mangkubumi or I, which is also the main architect of the palace of Yogyakarta. The similarity of the spatial pattern is very clearly visible on the location of the plaza is located in the north and south of the palace.

Experienced the golden age of the Surakarta royal palace during the reign of Sunan Paku Buwono X in the year 1893-1939. Keraton Surakarta conduct large-scale restoration, with a mix of architectural styles between Java and Europe in shades of white and blue.

How to go to Solo

Surakarta is located at the confluence between the south point of Java and Semarang-Madison line, which makes its strategic position as a transit city. Line trains from the northbound lane and the lane south of Java is also connected in this city.

Solo City can be reached by road, either using a private vehicle, bus or train. 

Personal vehicles 

City Solo connect to Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya with state roads. Looking ahead the planned construction of the highway (toll road) to Semarang and Yogyakarta. In addition, the provincial road connecting Solo with Purwodadi, Wonogiri, and Tawangmangu / Sarangan.
Bus and other public transportation highway 

Relation Solo bus service to almost all major cities in Java, Bali, and many cities in Sumatra. The main terminal is Tirtonadi Terminal, located in the north of the city and close to the train station (located about 1km).

There is a night bus (air-conditioned) which connects Solo from Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Banyuwangi, and Denpasar. There is also a very long distance bus connection that connects with Bandarlampung Solo, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Medan, Padang on the west side, and with Mataram and Bima in the east. Relations with Kalimantan and Sulawesi through a lean ship in Semarang or Surabaya.

Relationship to Surabaya lasted 24 hours, both slow and Patas buses. Relationship to Navan (via Yogyakarta), too, but with less frequency. There is also a semi-Patas buses connecting the Solo with the city of Malang, Jember and Banyuwangi. Relationships and bus to Semarang to Yogyakarta by bus langsam lasted from 05.00 till 19:00, the rest are not served, except by bus from Surabaya to Yogya, or sometimes an unofficial extension available vehicles omprengan.

Solo connect well with the district towns and districts from Terminal Tirtonadi, such as to Purwodadi, Sragen, Tawangmangu, Matesih, Wonogiri, Pedan (Klaten), and Simo (Boyolali). Railways (NR)

Relationship with Jakarta is served by trains Executive class (class 1) Argo Dwipangga (from Gambir station leaving tonight) and Argo Lawu (left early) at a cost of USD 200 thousand and travel time approximately 8 hours. This train stops at Tugu Station , Yogyakarta, and Purwokerto before reaching its final destination in Solo. Then the Business Class Main Dusk stop at Pasar Senen Station and Lodaya (Bandung).

Prambanan Express commuter trains serve the relationship of Yogyakarta with 45 minutes travel time. Train departs from Yogyakarta five times a day (07:00, 10.00, 13.00, 16.00, and 19.00). In addition there are commuter trains to and from Semarang (KA Pandanwangi) with twice the trips, but not clear his schedule.
Air 

Surakarta City International Airport Adisumarmo has facilities built in the style of Javanese Batik Joglo and ornaments that decorate every room. From Jakarta, almost every airline has a route to Surakarta, latency 50 minutes. From Panasan located in the area, you can take a taxi or Busway namely Batik Solo Trans 15 minutes to the center of the city of Surakarta.

Garuda Airlines, Lion Air and Sriwijaya water flights from Jakarta to Solo PP, Silk Air flight to Singapore Solo-PP, and Air Asia flights to Solo-Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in addition to direct flights to Mecca / Jeddah, Saudi Arabia due to Solo as embarkation pilgrimage to the region of Central Java and Yogyakarta. From Solo someone could fly to all cities in Indonesia through Jakarta.
